May 7, 2013 - Famed DJ & Producer Peter Rauhofer passed away today after a long battle with brain cancer, he was 48.
When the Gay Days line up came out for One Mighty Weekend, I circled Friday's Night's Arabian Night's After Hours party because Peter Rauhofer was scheduled to DJ one of Gay Days biggest weekend parties. However during April, Peter's condition worsed and he had to withdraw from the event.
While many WNBA players have shared their sexual orientation, not one in the NFL, MBL, NHL or NBA had crossed that line.
Today Justin Collins stand alone in Major League sport, however I believe he won't stand alone for long as I expect someone from MLB, then NFL and maybe some more NBA players to come out over the next 6 - 12 months. As for Hockey, I would give it a few years. More about Jason Collins.
Why Gay Marriage Matters
This truly personal article by Billy Manes of the Orlando Weekly is honest, pure and clearly shows that relationships are not equal.
For many in the gay community this is nothing new, but it is another example that helps others better understand the shortcomings of domestic registries and the laws that we often believe protect us.
Please note this is not a happy article, but one that needs to be shared and read. If so inspirde after reading, please share on your Facebook page.
